Recommendation Letters
National Child Care Director of the Year Award Candidate: Maria Seifi
I would like to nominate Maria Seifi for the National Child Care Director of the Year Award. Maria has cared for my two girls like her own since I first started with Maria's in-home daycare in 2003. Since the moment I met Maria, I knew that she had a special gift with children. She is kind, loving, patient and generous. Every mother dreams of having a caretaker who loves your children as their own and Maria is that person.
When Maria opened Preston Kiddie Kollege, it was like an extent ion of her in-home daycare with a loving, nurturing environment where all children feel loved and like they belonged. Maria's passion for children is demonstrated through the care and kind-hearted staff she has hired. As a mother, I never worry that my children won't be well taken care of or neglected. I also find comfort in knowing that while my children are having fun, they are learning the necessary educational and social skills to make them successful Kindergartners.
There are many respectable and admirable characteristics of Maria that cannot be justly explained in this letter of recommendation. The best way to sum up why Maria Seifi should be selected as Directory of the Year is this - Maria is the Mother I want to be!
Warmest Regards,
Valeigh Davis
Mother of Parker Davis age 3 1/2

Dear Ginger,
My name is Karem Hocking-Baker. I am National Sales Manager for Universal Radio in Dallas but more importantly the proud mother of three children. I am honored to nominate Maria Seifi, Director of Preston Kiddie Kollege for the NACCP Director of the Year Award.
She actually has another title that is not listed on her business card or in her office or on her desk, but as my husband and I would say, should absolutely be included as well. Her secondary title is "Auntie Maria, second mother of Marta Baker." Maria has been caring for my youngest daughter Marla now 4 1/2 years old, since Marla was three months old, which is when she began her career as Marla's second mother.
Upon the birth of my third child while I was on maternity leave I began to search for the perfect person to care for Marla while I was at work. Having two older children ages 16 and 12 it had been a long time since I had gone through this process. My husband and I interviewed numerous daycare facilities as well as home care providers. After five minutes of having met Maria I knew that she was the one. One could call it the "Mother's Instinct" but it was definitely from the heart.
I think going back to work after being at home with your newborn baby for three months on maternity leave is one of the most difficult experiences a working mother has to go through. Maria has made this transition much easier than I expected. Don't get me wrong, it's always difficult to go to work and be away from your children, but it takes the love and care of someone like Maria to smooth things over. It wasn't just things she would say, it was also what she didn't say but demonstrated in her actions and commitment to make Marla's time away from me the best it could be, and she has.
Her commitment to the school is on a 24 hour 7 day a week basis. What she has been able to accomplish far exceeds any parent's expectations. One would almost think she had quietly cloned herself in order to get everything done. At the same time she is still 100% committed to her family. My husband travels from time to time with his work. Whenever I have been in a bind to leave work and coordinate my three daughters schedule, Maria has always been my go to person, if I am running late, she always answers the phone with a reassuring "don't worry I am here" approach. With my hectic schedule those four words can be the most comforting words at the end of a hard workday.
Maria is truly deserving of the NACCP award. I proudly nominate her for this very well deserved Award.
Sincerely,
Karem Hocking-Baker

To whom it may concern,
As a mother of two boys, ages 2 1/2 & 4 1/2, it has been very important to find a daycare that has an owner/director that would try and show them as much love as I have for them. Unbelievably so, I was able to find it with Maria Seifi.
Originally, we began at Maria's in-home daycare in Plano, TX. After 3 years of teaching and loving the children in her care, she opened an amazing daycare in Frisco, TX. Maria shows an amazing amount of passion for children and especially the children she has had enrolled in her daycare. My oldest boy will graduate from her daycare this year to attend kindergarten and the thought of it gives me such mixed emotions. On one hand I am so proud of him and the things he has learned to prepare him for the next step in life and on the other hand, I am saddened for him to leave such an excellent and loving daycare.
There is absolutely no way my boys would be where they are without Maria's daycare and knowledge in the childcare industry. She takes so much time to make sure that the people she hires can exemplify the type of love and education that she would if she could be in every classroom at all times. She will not just hire anyone to fill a position. It is a privilege for a teacher at Preston Kiddie Kollege to work for her and she takes the hiring process very seriously.
I take it as an honor for my children to be attending such as an excellent school owned by a woman like no other.
Sincerely,
Terri Patterson.
