Building
The design of our 13,000-square foot building reflects our philosophy.
The building has a unique architecture which includes a garden maintained
by the children.
The interior spaces promote a homelike environment through the creation of separate infant, toddler, and preschool "neighborhoods." These neighborhoods are further divided into cozy classroom environments. All of the rooms feature special and appropriate tools for specific ages. The preschool also offers age-appropriate outdoor play areas and an indoor gym / playroom for large motor activities.
The teacher / child ratios provided in each room are surpass the state's
requirements to ensure a quality program.
Age Specific Neighborhoods
The Infant Neighborhood
The infant neighborhood consists of a large separate open area with changing stations and sleep spaces that offer opportunities for shared exploration and creative play.
The Toddler Neighborhood
Each toddler neighborhood is divided into large play areas for active
exploration and beginning group experiences; and small areas for quiet
play and interactions. The toddler rooms have a sleep area for nap time
and are next to kid-architected bathroom facilities. Our infant / toddler
neighborhoods are structured to provide two-year blocks for consistency.
The Preschool Neighborhood
The preschool neighborhood consists of rooms for both three- and four-year-old
children. Each has a large group area for hands-on learning and group
activities, as well as small areas for quiet play and one-to-one interaction.
Every room has its own bathroom facility.
Each child in our infant, toddler and preschool program is assigned a primary teacher. The role of the primary teacher is to ease children's transition into the program, follow their developmental growth throughout the year and provide the family with support. The families of infants, toddlers and three-year-olds receive daily notes and the families of four-year-olds and kindergartners receive weekly notes from their primary teacher.
When a child is enrolled in the preschool, it is necessary for a member
of the child's family to visit a minimum of four times (once a week during
the first month). During these visits, you and your child have an opportunity
to get acquainted with the staff and the room organization. These visits
make a significant difference in helping our families’ transition
into the program.
